Vålsjögillret is EPA approved trap for mink and marten. Vålsjögillret is probably the safest trap on the market because it is completely self-appreciation generating at chucking. The trap is set completely from the outside without in any way being in contact with the striking arm or even open the box. A tube is thread on tension arm which is positioned outside the trap, then the trap is tightened up without much force. When the striking arm reaches full tilt in tensioned position it sets it self in the right position and the trap is thus charged. The trap is triggered by fot plate that has adjustable trigger pressure. You can set the trigger pressure at foot plate as you like by screwing a nut up or down, which increases or decreases the force of the spring that keeps the pedal plate up against foot plate. Smart solution that allows you full control over which load pressure that makes the trap slams and it is the same every time. Finding a more easy to use and safer trap is difficult, makes you happy every time you load the trap and avoid unsafe handling as with many other traps.
If you follow our instructions for building the box the space behind the trap iron is more than 10 cm which gives good space for bait material. Of course, you can build as you want and just use the dimensions of the base plate. The box in the drawing allows you to easily change the front of the entrance hole. 90 mm for 75 mm for marten or mink.
The trap is made of laser cut parts in sturdy steel, all bolts are welded. The construction ensures years of use without problems.
