The box
Construction kit that is made to fit Vålsjögillret. All wooden parts except the bottom (which is made of solid pine) is made of sturdy PU glued plywood, which guarantees that your trap will last for very many years in all types of weather conditions. The kit contains the 1 fronts, with holes size for either marten or mink. Easy to install.

To build a box for a trap may seem simple at first, but to provide optimum catch is much to be rethought. Our kit has been developed over a long time and give a proven result. The trap door sill is optimized for the animal to be completely correct posture before it triggers. The length of the box behind the trap is large to store a big amount of bait. Box attachment to the tree with use of straps has been optimized with beveled ribs screwed vertically on the outside of the box to allow easy and fast attachment with perfect lateral stability. The straps threaded smoothly into premade holes between the box and the ribs. To further increase the incidence of light on the bait in the trap box it has opening in the box made as a 15mm wide slot. The front piece is mounted with quick release on the trap to make it easy to remove even the largest and most numb marten out of the trap. The lid is also equipped with attachments that make it easy to remove completely but at the same time ensuring that it is substantially in place. Supplied with pre-cut galvanized mesh that effectively lets in light. For those who want to burn, tar, or coloring the box on another's way, we can immediately say that we thought of that too, plywood is not treated in any way. If you do nothing it becames gray over time. But to burn, spraying blood, soot or stroking it with very thinned tar is never wrong.

Vålsjögillret is EPA approved trap mink and marten trapp. Vålsjögillret is probably the safest on the market because it is completely self-appreciation generating at chucking. The trap is set completely from the outside without in any way being in contact with the striking arm or even open the box. A tube threaded on tension arm which is positioned outside the trap, then the trap is tightened up without much force. When the striking arm reaches full tilt in tensioned position it sets it self in the right position and the trap is thus charged. The trap is triggered by foot plate that has adjustable trigger pressure. The trigger load is set as you like by screwing a nut up or down, which increases or decreases the force of the spring that keeps the pedal plate up against gillerarmen. Smart solution that allows you full control over which load pressure that makes the trap to trigger, and it is the same every time. Finding a more easy to use and safer trap is difficult, makes you happy every time you load the trap and avoid unsafe handling as with many other traps.
The durable material in the box gives you the advantage to let the trap stay out over the summer, its smart to have food in it even during this period.
The trap is made of laser cut parts in sturdy steel, all bolts in trap are welded. The galvanized construction ensures years of use without problems.
